It's that time of year again, folks--time for a Christmas Bake-Off Challenge. Last year we delved into the Seventies, Betty Crocker Holiday style, but this year, we're letting your creativity run wild. Once you receive your Christmas card in the mail, you have until New Year's Day to submit an entry to this year's challenge.
The Challenge:
Create and stage a gingerbread scene of your choosing. It can be a house, cookies, a tree, anything you can come up with, really. It can be 2-D or 3-D. It does not have to be holiday-themed. There's a secret family gingerbread recipe included in the invitation--along with a recipe for royal icing--but you can use whatever recipe you find works best for you.
There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, and, although the hosts will also be playing along--they can't win.
Are last year's champions--Derek and Petra and Mark and Kate--ready to defend their title? We shall see!
When you're finished--email me photos of your creation and a description of what you put together. Check back to see what others have created.
